St. Anne's Church stands on Batthyany Square on the Buda bank of the Danube, regarded as one of the finest Baroque churches in Budapest. Built in the eighteenth century, its twin towers and curving facade face directly across the river toward the Parliament Building. The richly decorated interior features a dramatic high altar, frescoed ceiling, and ornate pulpit. Its riverside position makes the church a landmark of the Buda skyline, and the surrounding square is a busy hub linking metro, tram, and suburban railway lines.
