Usina del Arte

The Usina del Arte in the La Boca neighbourhood of Buenos Aires is a cultural centre housed in a former electricity plant, its brick Italianate building and tower dating from the early twentieth century. Restored and reopened in 2012, it contains a symphonic concert hall praised for its acoustics along with a chamber-music hall and exhibition spaces. It hosts orchestral concerts, chamber recitals, dance and community events, many of them free. The adaptive reuse of the old power station gives it a striking industrial character.
