Puente Transbordador Nicolás Avellaneda

This towering steel transporter bridge spans the Riachuelo between La Boca and Avellaneda, its lattice framework a survivor of early twentieth-century industrial engineering. Completed in 1914, it carried a suspended gondola across the water to allow tall ships to pass beneath. After decades out of service the structure was restored and reopened for pedestrians. Set among the colourful houses of La Boca, its rust-red silhouette is a striking reminder of the port's shipbuilding and dockside heritage.
