The Stockholm Concert Hall, opened in 1926, is a landmark of the city with its striking blue neoclassical exterior facing the Hötorget square and its outdoor market. It is best known as the venue for the annual Nobel Prize award ceremony each December. Home to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, its main auditorium hosts orchestral concerts through the season. A large bronze fountain group by sculptor Carl Milles stands on the square outside. The distinctive colour and Nobel role make it one of the most recognisable buildings in the capital.
