A museum in a lavish private palace in central Stockholm, preserved exactly as its owners left it. The count and countess von Hallwyl built the mansion around 1900 with the intention that it become a public museum, cataloguing every object in detail. Rooms display their collections of paintings, armour, silver, porcelain and furniture within opulent period interiors. Modern comforts of the era, from central heating to a telephone room, are integrated into the historic setting.
