The National Philharmonic in Warsaw traces its origins to 1901 and hosts the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition, held in the city every five years. The concert hall, rebuilt after the war, contains a large symphonic auditorium and a smaller chamber hall. As the country's leading orchestra, the ensemble performs a full season of symphonic and choral music. Its association with the Chopin competition gives it international significance in the piano world.
