This grand Baroque church on the Royal Route is famous as the resting place of the heart of composer Frédéric Chopin, sealed within a pillar and marked by a plaque. Built in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, its twin-towered façade and richly decorated interior make it one of the most important churches in the capital. A large stone figure of Christ bearing the cross stands on the steps outside, a well-known city landmark. Rebuilt after severe wartime damage, it remains an active parish on the Chopin heritage trail.
