Arroceros Forest Park is a small patch of dense urban forest on the bank of the Pasig River in central Manila, often called the last lung of the city. Set on land with a long civic history, it shelters thousands of trees and shrubs and dozens of bird species within a tightly built district. Repeatedly threatened by development, it has been defended by conservationists as a rare surviving green refuge. Narrow paths wind beneath the canopy, offering city residents and schoolchildren a shaded, biodiverse escape from the surrounding concrete.
