This memorial complex near Manila City Hall honours the revolutionary leader Andrés Bonifacio with a soaring pylon and sculptural reliefs. Dedicated in the 1990s and situated at Liwasang Bonifacio, the tall shaft is fronted by bronze figures depicting the uprising of 1896 and the ideals of the Katipunan. The surrounding plaza has long served as a venue for rallies, concerts and civic gatherings in the heart of the old city. Close to the central post office, it recalls the founding events of the independence struggle.
