Mehan Garden is a small historic park in central Manila, dating to the Spanish colonial era when it formed part of the botanical grounds laid out beyond the old walled city. Once a showcase of tropical plants, it later declined but retains mature trees and a scattering of monuments amid the surrounding urban bustle. Efforts have periodically sought to restore its greenery and heritage character. Set near cultural institutions and the old city gates, it survives as one of the capital's oldest surviving garden spaces.
