Letná Park sits on a broad plateau above the Vltava river in Prague, offering some of the best views over the city's bridges and old town rooftops. Laid out in the nineteenth century, its tree-lined paths and lawns draw joggers, families and beer-garden crowds. A giant metronome now stands on the pedestal where a colossal statue of Stalin once loomed before its demolition. The park's terraces, a functionalist restaurant pavilion and a working carousel give it a mix of history and everyday recreation.
