The Khan Mohammad Mridha Mosque is an early eighteenth-century Mughal mosque in old Dhaka, built around 1704 during the late Mughal governorship of the city. It is unusual for standing on a high vaulted platform reached by a broad staircase, with rooms and a water tank arranged beneath the prayer hall. Three domes crown the mosque, and slender corner minarets and cusped arches give it an elegant profile above the rooftops. The raised terrace offers views over the crowded lanes of the historic quarter.
