Bangladesh National Museum

This large Dhaka museum in the Shahbagh district presents the history, art and natural history of Bangladesh across four floors of galleries. Its collections span Hindu and Buddhist stone sculpture, terracotta plaques from ancient viharas, folk crafts and material from the 1971 Liberation War. Ethnographic displays cover the country's diverse communities and the arts of the wider region. As the national repository, it offers the broadest single overview of the nation's heritage in the capital.
