A historic Shia imambara in old Dhaka, Hussaini Dalan was established in the Mughal period as a house of mourning for the commemoration of Muharram. Set beside a reflecting tank, the building blends Mughal and later architectural elements and remains the centre of the city's Shia religious observances. During Muharram, processions and gatherings converge here, filling the surrounding lanes. Its long history and ceremonial role make it an important landmark within the old city.
