Set in the old quarter of Armanitola in Dhaka, this church was built in the early nineteenth century by the city's once-prosperous Armenian merchant community. The whitewashed building, formally the Church of the Holy Resurrection, sits within a walled compound scattered with old gravestones bearing Armenian inscriptions. Though the community has all but vanished, the church survives as a reminder of the diverse trading communities that shaped old Dhaka.
