Christ Church Cathedral is the Anglican cathedral of Ottawa, a Gothic Revival church whose tower rises above the escarpment near Parliament Hill. Consecrated in the nineteenth century and later enlarged, it is home to Canada's first change-ringing tower bells, rung by teams pulling ropes in the English tradition. The interior features fine woodwork, memorial windows and a notable organ used in frequent concerts. As the seat of the local bishop it hosts civic and national services.
