The Confederation Building is a Gothic Revival government office block on Wellington Street west of Parliament Hill in Ottawa, completed in 1931 to house expanding federal departments. Its steep copper roofs, turrets and pointed-arch detailing were designed to harmonize with the neighbouring Parliament buildings and Supreme Court. For decades it has provided offices for members of Parliament and staff, a working extension of the parliamentary precinct. The building anchors the western end of the ceremonial route through the capital.
