Standing at a major intersection on Ratchadamnoen Avenue, this monument commemorates the 1932 revolution that ended absolute monarchy in Siam. Completed in 1939 to a design blending Thai and Art Deco motifs, it centres on a raised representation of the constitution guarded by four curved wings whose height encodes the date of the change. Reliefs at the base depict citizens and soldiers, and the surrounding plaza has repeatedly served as a rallying ground during later political movements.
