Located at the edge of the Banglamphu district near the backpacker streets, this temple's name refers to victory in war, honouring a military role linked to the early defence of the capital. Rebuilt in the early Bangkok period, it has strong historical ties to the Mon community who settled in the area and served the kingdom. The whitewashed ordination hall, tiered roofs and shaded courtyards provide a calm refuge amid the busy surrounding lanes and make an easy stop while walking the old city's north.
