Once a working commercial port, this redeveloped waterfront basin in central Auckland is now ringed with restaurants, bars, apartments and superyacht berths. It served as a base during the America's Cup yachting regattas, which spurred its transformation, and remains closely tied to the city's sailing heritage. Pedestrian promenades, opening bridges and public spaces make it a popular gathering place by day and night. The adjoining Wynyard Quarter has extended the redevelopment with parks, markets and maritime attractions.
