Cascade Brewery

Set against the forested slopes of Mount Wellington on the outskirts of Hobart, this brewery is the oldest continuously operating brewery in Australia, founded in 1824. Its imposing multi-storey sandstone facade, framed by the mountain behind, is one of the most photographed industrial buildings in the country. Fed by pure water from the mountain, the brewery has produced beer for nearly two centuries. Guided tours lead visitors through the historic brewing process and gardens, ending with tastings.
