This Anglican cathedral in central Hobart is the seat of the Anglican bishop of Tasmania and one of the city's landmark church buildings. Designed in a Gothic Revival style and built in stages from the 1860s, its tower and spire were completed in the early twentieth century, rising above the surrounding streets. The interior features fine timber and stone work, stained glass and a notable ring of bells used for change ringing. Standing on a site used for worship since the colony's early years, the cathedral offers a quiet historical presence.
