One of the oldest football grounds in South America, this stadium is the home of Club Nacional de Football and hosted matches during the very first World Cup in 1930. Located in the La Blanqueada neighbourhood, it occupies a site with deep roots in the early history of Uruguayan sport. Rebuilt and expanded over the decades, the stadium retains its historic significance as one of the birthplaces of international football tournaments. A club museum records its long and storied past.
