Set within Parque Rodó, this museum holds the largest public collection of Uruguayan art in the country, spanning painting, sculpture, drawing and print from the nineteenth century to the present. Works by masters such as Blanes, Figari and Torres García trace the development of national art. The collection is arranged in light-filled galleries within a building surrounded by parkland near the coast. Free to enter, it offers a comprehensive survey of Uruguay's artistic heritage in a single institution.
