This pair of neo-Gothic public buildings framing National Heroes Square houses the Barbadian legislature, whose roots reach back to 1639, making it among the oldest parliaments in the Western Hemisphere. Built of coral limestone in the 1870s, the wings feature stained-glass windows depicting British monarchs and a distinctive clock tower. The West Wing now holds the National Heroes Gallery and the Museum of Parliament. Visitors tour the Senate and House chambers and view the collection tracing the island's political history.
