Located beside the riverwalk in central Monterrey, this museum offers a broad survey of Mexican history from the pre-Hispanic era to the modern republic. Its galleries move chronologically through ancient civilisations, the colonial period, independence and the Revolution, using artefacts, models and multimedia displays aimed at a wide audience. A connected wing focuses on the history of the northeast. The building, with its long reflecting pool, forms part of the cultural corridor linking the great square to Parque Fundidora.
