The Parliament Building of Quebec is the seat of the province's National Assembly, a grand Second Empire structure completed in 1886 just outside the walls of Old Quebec. Its symmetrical façade carries a tall central tower and niches filled with bronze statues of historical figures who shaped the province. Inside, richly decorated chambers host debates and ceremonies of the provincial legislature. A fountain and gardens front the building, which anchors the parliamentary district and is open to visitors through guided tours.
