This small downtown park is a busy hub in the city's central business district, ringed by office buildings and served by two nearby transit stations. At its center stands a bronze statue of Admiral David Farragut, a Union naval hero of the Civil War, cast from the propeller of his flagship. During the workweek the square fills with office workers at lunch, and food trucks line the surrounding streets. As one of the squares laid out in the original plan of the city, it remains a functional piece of the capital's civic geometry.
