The largest museum of land transport in the country, set in Wemmer Pan park south of central Johannesburg. Its halls display a broad collection of vehicles tracing the history of movement in South Africa, from ox wagons and horse-drawn carriages to early motor cars, buses, trams, steamrollers and fire engines. Restored trams and rickshaws recall the streets of the old city. Founded in 1964, the museum offers a nostalgic and educational look at how people and goods moved across the region, appealing to families and enthusiasts alike.
