A large interactive science centre in the Newtown cultural precinct of Johannesburg, set in a converted power station building. Aimed especially at schoolchildren, it offers hundreds of hands-on exhibits on physics, mathematics, technology and the region's mining heritage. Workshops, demonstrations and a resource centre support science education across the province. It is one of the largest such centres in southern Africa, within a precinct of markets, theatres and museums.
