This museum in the Fes medina occupies the Nejjarine Fondouk, a restored eighteenth-century caravanserai that once lodged merchants and stored goods around a tall galleried courtyard. Reopened as a museum in 1998, it displays Morocco's rich tradition of woodworking, from carved doors, chests and instruments to prayer beads and tools. The building, with its cedar balconies, zellij and central fountain, is a prime example of a commercial fondouk. A rooftop terrace café offers views across the medina near the carpenters' square.
