Sarona is a restored historic quarter in central Tel Aviv, founded in the 1870s as an agricultural colony by German Templers. Its low red-roofed houses and tree-lined lanes were preserved and relocated during redevelopment, and the district now blends heritage buildings with modern offices and a large indoor food market. Old cellars and gardens sit surrounded by contemporary towers, an unusual pocket of 19th-century architecture in the city centre, popular for dining, shopping, and strolling.
