Dizengoff Square is a circular plaza in central Tel Aviv, surrounded by curved Bauhaus-style buildings that form part of the city's celebrated White City architecture. At its centre stands a colourful kinetic fountain designed by the artist Yaacov Agam. For decades the square was elevated on a raised platform above the traffic, but it was later returned to street level, restoring its role as a gathering place. Named after the city's first mayor and his wife, it remains a landmark of the modernist heart of Tel Aviv.
