A slender lattice broadcasting tower in northern Tashkent, standing around 375 metres tall and ranking among the tallest structures in Central Asia. Completed in 1985, it carries an observation deck and revolving restaurant that give sweeping views over the sprawling capital and, on clear days, the distant mountains. Its distinctive tapering silhouette is a familiar feature of the city skyline. Visitors ride a high-speed lift to the upper platforms for the panorama.
