The Bajra Sandhi Monument in Denpasar commemorates the struggles of the Balinese people, its form inspired by a priest's bell used in Hindu ritual. Standing at the centre of a large park, the towering structure rises from a base housing a museum whose dioramas trace Bali's history from prehistoric times through the era of kingdoms, colonial resistance and independence. A spiral staircase leads to a viewing platform offering a panorama over the surrounding Renon district.
