The Le Mayeur Museum on the beachfront at Sanur preserves the former home and studio of a Belgian painter who settled in Bali in the 1930s and married a celebrated Balinese dancer. The traditional-style house, set in a small garden near the shore, displays his luminous canvases depicting Balinese life, temple scenes and above all his wife amid tropical gardens.
