Laid out in the 18th century for a queen of Jaipur, this terraced pleasure garden climbs a hillside on the city's eastern edge. Multiple levels of fountains, water channels and flower beds are arranged in the Mughal charbagh tradition, while pavilions painted with scenes from the Krishna legends crown the upper terrace. Peacocks roam the grounds and the surrounding hills frame the setting. A tranquil retreat away from the crowded old city, it exemplifies the courtly garden culture of Rajput royalty.
