Set within the City Palace gardens, this open-hall temple is dedicated to Krishna and is among the most revered Vaishnava shrines in Rajasthan. Built in the 18th century so the ruling family could view the deity from their palace, it has a broad pillared prayer hall rather than a traditional towered sanctum. Thousands gather for the daily aartis, when the image is unveiled amid music and offerings. Surrounded by the Jai Niwas garden, it remains a living centre of devotion at the core of the royal complex.
