Horniman Circle Gardens

A circular green enclosed by graceful arcaded buildings, this garden lies at the historic core of Mumbai's commercial district. Laid out in the 19th century over an old cotton green, it centres on a large fountain and lawns shaded by mature trees. The uniform curved facades that ring the space were built to a planned scheme, giving the area a rare architectural coherence.
