One of India's oldest high courts, this imposing early-Gothic Revival building overlooks the Oval Maidan and forms a centrepiece of the city's Victorian precinct. Completed in the 1870s in black stone, it features towering octagonal turrets, carved figures of justice and long vaulted corridors busy with advocates in robes. The structure is a working court, so interior access is limited, but its dramatic silhouette rewards viewing from the maidan. It belongs to the UNESCO-listed ensemble that defines southern Mumbai.
