National War Memorial, New Delhi

Inaugurated in 2019 near India Gate, this memorial honours the soldiers who have died serving the nation since independence. Its design centres on a low eternal flame set within concentric circular walls, the innermost inscribed with the names of the fallen. Surrounding galleries and sculptural elements evoke themes of sacrifice and remembrance, while bronze busts of decorated war heroes stand in an adjacent enclosure. Laid out on the lawns of the ceremonial axis, it has become the focus of official commemorations.
