A vast complex of bronze statues on Mansu Hill in central Pyongyang, dominated by two colossal figures of the country's late leaders standing side by side, flanked by sweeping stone reliefs of revolutionary crowds. Originally unveiled in the 1970s and later revised, the monument is the foremost site of official reverence in the capital, where citizens and visiting delegations lay flowers and bow. Foreign visitors on guided tours are expected to observe strict etiquette. The elevated plaza offers a commanding view over the city center.
