The Passage is an ornate covered shopping arcade in central Odesa, built around the turn of the twentieth century and lavishly decorated with sculpted figures, atlantes and allegorical reliefs. A glass roof spans the interior gallery, which links two streets and once housed one of the city's grandest hotels. The exuberant facade and richly modelled interior make it a showpiece of the port's belle-époque prosperity. Visitors wander through to admire the statuary and the light above.
