Rising in the old quarter of Pristina near the Imperial Mosque, this Ottoman-era clock tower dates from around the 19th century and once regulated the daily life of the town's market and mosques. Built of stone with a brick upper section, it stands as one of the few surviving pieces of the city's Ottoman skyline. A bell brought from elsewhere and a later clock mechanism marked the hours for residents. Restored in modern times, the tower belongs to the cluster of historic monuments that recall Pristina's Ottoman centuries.
