Rosengart Collection

Housed in a former bank near Lucerne's railway station, this museum presents the private collection of the art dealer Angela Rosengart, who knew many of the artists personally. Its heart is a large group of works by Picasso, spanning his whole career, alongside a striking series of photographs of the painter at home. A lower floor gathers pieces by Klee, Cézanne, Miró, Chagall and Kandinsky. The intimate scale and the personal ties behind the collection give it a warmth unusual among galleries of modern art.
