Between the boulevard de Strasbourg and the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis, this covered passage is known today as Little India, lined with South Asian restaurants, grocers and bazaars scented with spices. Opened in the 1820s, its long glass-roofed and open sections retain their 19th-century structure while hosting a vibrant immigrant community. The colourful shopfronts and hanging garlands give it an atmosphere unlike any other arcade in Paris. It offers an inexpensive, aromatic detour through a working-class corner of the Right Bank.
