This Victorian public park forms a green square at the top of Grafton Street in the heart of Dublin. Enclosed and laid out in its present form in the 1880s with funding from Arthur Guinness, it features a central lake, ornamental flowerbeds, a bandstand and numerous statues and memorials. During the 1916 Easter Rising, fighting took place within the park, and both sides briefly paused to allow the groundskeeper to feed the ducks. The tree-lined lawns are a popular retreat for office workers and visitors alike.
