This pedestrianised street running between St Stephen's Green and Trinity College is one of Dublin's principal shopping thoroughfares and social gathering places. Once a fashionable Georgian address, it developed into a commercial hub lined with department stores, cafés and boutiques. Street performers and buskers are a constant feature, and several went on to musical fame after playing here. Landmarks along and near the street include the statue of the fishmonger Molly Malone and the ornate frontage of a long-established department store.
