Kelmscott House is a Georgian riverside home in Hammersmith where the designer, poet and socialist William Morris lived from 1878 until his death in 1896. From here he ran his decorative arts business and later a printing press, and the coach house hosted meetings of the socialist movement he helped lead. Named after his country home upstream, the house now serves as the headquarters of the William Morris Society, with a small museum displaying textiles, wallpapers and printing equipment relating to his work.
