A seafront promenade north of central George Town that has become shorthand for Penang street food, thanks to its long-running hawker centre serving char kway teow, laksa and rojak. High-rise malls and condominiums line the landward side, while the esplanade fills with evening strollers catching the sea breeze. The adjacent Gurney Bay reclamation has added new waterfront parkland to the strip.
